Hypnosis-Hypnotherapy…what does it all mean and how can it make a difference in your life? Hypnotherapy is simply hypnosis used for a therapeutic purpose.
My fascination with hypnosis started when I was concerned about my sister’s smoking habit. A friend of mine showed up one day looking slimmer and better than I had seen him in years. I asked him how he lost the weight. He said he was hypnotized for smoking, hadn’t smoked in a year, and had lost weight through the whole thing. I was astounded. Most people I knew gained weight when trying to quit smoking. I knew my sister needed the same kind of help to kick her habit. I flew her to my town to see a hypnotherapist. She went through a session, took an audiotape home, and reinforced the hypnotic suggestions by listening to the audio for thirty days straight. I am happy and thankful to say that was more than 17 years ago and she hasn’t gone back to smoking.
I started researching hypnosis more and became completely intrigued by the amazing results I observed when people used hypnosis therapeutically to overcome everything from weight issues, to depression, confidence issues, phobias…and a multitude of other things. I went back to school to become a master hypnotherapist, and became certified with the American Board of Hypnotherapy. I immersed myself in practicing the best techniques to help people get to the heart of their issues, purge unwanted beliefs and habits, and then use the same pathway to help them deliberately create the life they wanted to be living.
Hypnosis is a powerful tool of change and transformation, and is wonderfully effective for lasting mastery in weight and fitness. It can give you a huge advantage over going it alone because it changes thinking, beliefs, and habits at a deep, core level. Whether you know it or not, your body is taking direction from the beliefs in your mind and producing the results you can observe right now in your life. If you’re reading this, I can already assume you’re an intelligent human being. You probably even know a fair amount about healthy eating, movement, and exercise. . Your mind can be holding all kinds of self-sabotaging beliefs, and habits that run at a subconscious level, which can be impossible to change without deeper intervention. Left alone those belief and habits will continue to keep you from becoming the best version of you.

Dr. Milton Henry Erickson, who lived from 1901 to 1980, was a psychiatrist and psychologist regarded by many as the foremost practitioner of medical hypnosis in his time. He once said that patients are patients because they are out of rapport with their own Unconscious.
As one of the great pioneers of therapeutic hypnosis, Erickson discovered that hypnosis allowed people to come into a greater rapport with their own subconscious mind creating a multitude of healing effects for the mind and body.
With that in mind, you can understand why the first deep hypnosis in the upcoming Skinny Life core program set will be titled: Understanding Yourself. It is designed to help you come into rapport with your own subconscious mind.
The mind is the starting point to all major change because your mind is the gateway to all possibility.
