A November Favorite! Spicy Pumpkin Hummus Recipe

Step 1:

Place garlic and 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet over low heat. Cook until garlic begins to sizzle, about 30 seconds; transfer to a food processor.

Step 2:

Add chickpeas, pumpkin, lemon juice, tahini, cumin, harissa, honey, and 2 tablespoons oil to food processor. Process until smooth, about 10 seconds, stopping to scrape down sides and bottom of bowl as needed. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. (Add additional harissa for more heat, if desired.)

Step 3:

Transfer to a bowl; cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to allow flavors to develop. To serve, drizzle with remaining 1 tablespoon oil; sprinkle with pepitas and paprika, if desired.

Enjoy Delicious Fall Flavors: Pumpkin Dip

Canned pumpkin mixed with maple syrup and cinnamon will be a treat for your taste buds. The cream cheese used in this recipe has a third less fat and makes the dip rich and soft without too many added calories. Serve with fresh apple slices for an extra serving of vitamins and fiber.


  • 3/4 cup(6 ounces) 1/3-less-fat cream cheese
  • 1/2 cuppacked brown sugar
  • 1/2 cupcanned pumpkin
  • 2 teaspoonsmaple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoonground cinnamon
  • 24 apple slices

Place first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl, and beat with a mixer at medium speed until well blended. Add syrup and cinnamon, and beat until smooth. Cover and chill 30 minutes. Serve with your favorite brand of apples.
